Rights, Responsibilities, and Realities of Registration for Landscape Architects

Course Description: A class describing the lawful rights, responsibilities, and realities of being a registered landscape architect in Florida. The course begins with the US Constitution, followed by logical and easy to understand breakdown of state law governing landscape architecture.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Understand Federal and State Laws pertaining to Regulation of Landscape Architecture
  • Understand the Rights of every licensed landscape architect, as authorized by law
  • Understand the Responsibilities of every licensed landscape architect, as required by law
  • Understand the Realities of being licensed and part of a regulated profession
  • Understand the need for professional regulation in Florida

Meet the Speaker:

Jeff Caster, FASLA

In 2020, Jeff began, what is expected to be an eventful, enjoyable, and very long retirement. Decades of professional and leadership experience in ASLA, at the Florida Department of Transportation, at Florida A&M University, and in his community readied Jeff to continue being impactful. Mostly volunteer, he is an advocate and activist for conservation and protection of Florida’s natural resources and scenic beauty, and against bullying and bigotry everywhere.
