Foundational Placemaking: Market District

This course reviews the challenges faced when the practice of good urban design comes to play in local planning initiatives. Participants are taught the ways in which placemaking plans can serve as a foundation for community change, even when the course from idea to action is anything but clear. The panel is comprised of planning and urban design professionals actively working in the public sector, private practice, and university teaching with 40+ years of professional experience and accreditations.

This course will provide 1 Continuing Education Credit.

Meet the speakers:

Jeremy Floyd, PLA     

Moore Bass Consulting, Inc.                                           

With more than 20 years of professional experience, Mr. Floyd, a Registered Landscape Architect and Urban Designer, brings a diverse skill set in land planning, urban design, and land development to the firm. From site layout and financial feasibility analyses to comprehensive planning and zoning, he is well-versed in all aspects of the development process. He possesses strong communication, planning, mentoring, and presentation skills, and is adept at orchestrating collaborative efforts. 

 

Jeannette Duncan

Tallahassee-Leon County Planning Department

Jennette Duncan is a Principal Planner in DesignWorks at the Tallahassee-Leon County Planning Department and has been with the team for the past 4 years.  She has over 13 years’ experience crafting urban development policy, managing public sector projects, implementing engagement processes, and assisting in municipal litigation.  She earned a B.S. in Family and Child Sciences and Certificate in Urban and Regional Planning at the Florida State University.
